Q: Why do I ned to confirm my email address every time I enter your giveaways
A: The short answer is to prevent bots and spammers.
We take pride in knowing everyone on our email list, asked to be there. MailChimp processes and manages our email database. As our partner and as a leader in email processing, MailChimp requires a double opt-in process. This process can't be disabled, and we can't turn it off. Part of MailChimp's responsibility as an email service provider (ESP) is to reduce spam. Conditionally they require all subscribers to sign up, or opt in, to receive our emails. A double opt-in signup helps verify that we have permission to send you email. Double opt-in protects against malicious bots and spammers. If a spammer signs up for our list and starts reporting our emails as spam, we'll have the confirmation IP address, time, and date saved, so we'll be able to prove that the subscriber confirmed their interest in our list.
