Product Description
8-Pin Female Microphone & Electrical Cable Connector
The ARS-9308-CBL - 8-Pin Female Microphone & Electrical Cable Connector is a rugged, metal-bodied circular connector designed for low-voltage electrical, microphone, radio, audio, and signal applications. Commonly known as a 16 mm aviation-style connector, it features eight female contact pins and a threaded locking shell that provides a secure connection between mating connectors.
This connector is commonly used as a mobile radio and amateur radio microphone connector, including applications with Icom and other compatible transceivers. The knurled coupling ring features an M16 x 1 metric internal thread, allowing the connector to securely mate with the corresponding male connector.
The connector is also suitable for custom electrical wiring, control equipment, audio equipment, CNC machinery, 3D printers, and other low-voltage applications requiring a compact, multi-pin connection.

Recommended Wire Size
22 AWG wire is recommended for this 8-pin connector and provides an excellent balance of current capacity and ease of installation. 24 AWG wire is also well suited for lower-current signal applications.
The solder cups inside an 8-pin GX16 connector are relatively small. Using 22 or 24 AWG wire helps prevent crowding and makes soldering cleaner and easier. Wire larger than approximately 20 AWG may not fit properly inside the solder terminals or connector housing.
Cable Size
The cable entry/strain-relief opening is typically approximately 6.5–7 mm. When using an 8-conductor cable, the overall outside diameter of the cable should be small enough to pass through the connector's cable-entry opening.
