Slots 15 and 30 - Insert the wire into the contact prior to inserting the contact into the tool. With the flat surface facing down insert the contact tip first into the corresponding slot. Squeeze fully the ratchet handle until the ratchet mechanism releases to insure a good crimp.
Slot 45 - Insert the contact into the crimp tool 'open side' facing up prior to inserting the wire into the contact. Note: Some users find it easier to slightly compress the open tabs with needle nose pliers before inserting the contact into the crimp tool's slot. Be sure not to over compress the tabs. Fully squeeze the ratchet handle until the ratchet mechanism releases to insure a good crimp.
If you have trouble crimping a 45 amp contact, do not use excessive force or the tool may be damaged. Use the release tab located between the handles to unlock the handles and retry the crimp.
Never squeeze the handles until they touch as you might damage the crimping die. Never try to crimp previously soldered tinned wire / contacts.

This tool works as described... with Anderson power poles and works great!
Excellent quality. Crimped numerous Power Pole connectors effortlessly.
Was great to receive. Unexpectedly came in orange, my favorite color.
Using this tool ensures a proper wire to connector connection that is fail-safe under most weather/usage handling conditions.
This tool is perfect for novices like myself. I looked up a demo on line and followed instructions. Worked great. It's a bit expensive if you aren't using it often but it sure saves headaches.
Works great. All of the power pole crimps are perfect and look professional. Can also change the die sets for other things.
