The Firestik K4-A stud mount has been praised by communications professionals for 20 years. You can actually pay more for a stud mount but you certainly will not get more than what the K-4A offers. The K-4A should be used whenever a PL-259 terminated coax cable is used.

Excellent product - excellent service. Parts arrived in a few days, well packaged and excellent quality. Antenna is installed and tested. Very happy with my purchase.

Works Fine!
While this works fine on HF frequencies the chrome plating effects performance on UHF frequencies. The only way to make it work is to remove the chrome plating from the threads of the SO-239. I did this with a die threader the same size and TPI as the SO-239 and some coarse steel wool. Also, I used a good quality PL-259 on the coax used in your antenna project... silver plated is ultimate.
