Very Handy
A very handy thing to have for Field Day or any outdoor deployment of your station. With these you can rapidly disconnect the coax from the radio in case of thunderstorm conditions and eliminate the possibility of lightning striking your radio - or you. At times when there is a lot of potential for dangerous weather, can you really afford to be unscrewing a connector? It isn't worth the risk especially when you consider the modest investment for these connectors. Just put one on the radio end of the coax and push it into place and your are done. I got two so I can have a spare in my go kit or connect two antennas to a radio or radios depending on what the situation dictates. I have not tested these for RF leakage but I believe they are intended for use as a safety measure primarily, and they should not be a huge issue RF wise. That is the reason I only gave 4 stars. I wish I had the gear to measure the RF signal differential between a regular PL-259 and adding one of these on the end of the coax. I suspect any signal loss using one of these is minimal. I got a pair for my kit, perhaps you should consider a few as well.
