BNC Straight Male (Plug) Dual Crimp Connector for LMR200
The BNC-3029-200 is specifically made for LMR200 series coaxial cable. LMR-200 cable connectors are generally not compatible with RG-58 or RG-58A cable even though the two cables have similar nominal diameters. LMR-200 typically has a solid center conductor and a foam dielectric with specific dimensions. RG-58A often has a stranded center conductor (though solid versions exist), a different dielectric, and different shield thickness.
Coax connectors are designed to match the cable's outer jacket diameter, dielectric diameter, center conductor diameter and type (solid vs. stranded). Even small dimensional differences can result in poor electrical performance (high VSWR/return loss); Weak mechanical retention; Difficulty assembling the connector; Potential damage to the cable or connector.
So, it is not recommended you use LMR200 connectors if you have RG-58, it's best to use connectors specifically designed for RG-58 or RG-58A.
