Product Description
RFN-3609 - N-Male Coaxial Termination
A Type N RF Coaxial Termination Dummy Load provides a safe, controlled termination for RF and microwave equipment by absorbing transmitted energy instead of allowing it to radiate or reflect back into the system. Typically designed with a 50-ohm impedance, it provides a properly matched load for transmitters, amplifiers, transceivers, test equipment, and other RF systems.
Ideal for testing, calibration, troubleshooting, and equipment protection, a dummy load allows RF equipment to be operated without connecting an antenna. It can also be used to terminate unused ports on devices such as directional couplers, circulators, and other multi-port RF components, helping minimize unwanted signal reflections.
Key Features
- Power Rating — 1-Watt
- Frequency — DC to 1 GHz
- Tolerance — 1% Accuracy
- Impedance — 50-Ohm — Provides a properly matched load to absorb RF energy and reduce signal reflections.
- Protects RF Equipment — Helps protect transmitters, amplifiers, and transceivers from damage caused by excessive reflected power during testing.
- Safe RF Energy Dissipation — Converts transmitted RF energy into heat rather than allowing it to radiate from an open connection.
- Ideal for Testing & Calibration — Provides a consistent reference load for checking transmitters, cables, RF systems, and test equipment.
- Terminates Unused Ports — Helps prevent unwanted signal reflections when used on unused ports of directional couplers, circulators, and similar RF devices.
- Type N Interface — Provides a secure, low-reflection connection suitable for professional RF and telecommunications equipment.
- High-Frequency Performance — Type N connections are widely used in applications extending into the multi-GHz range, commonly up to approximately 11 GHz depending on the specific design.
- Versatile RF Applications — Suitable for laboratory testing, field service, communications equipment, antenna systems, and RF test benches.
- No Antenna Required — Allows transmitters and amplifiers to be tested safely without radiating RF energy through an antenna.
